Return – Dawn Meader

24 February, 2020

Only half of the 174 children who go missing every day in India, my bloodline, are found. In Australia, Syria, globally vulnerable children are unsafe at home or on the street. The Stolen Generation still lives with the pain of childhood lost. As I painted, the bush fires raged; a billion lives lost.

While painting, I deeply reflected on the injustice done to all vulnerable creatures. I painted my longing to see all God’s children returned to kindness and Divine Love-which I painted as the unconditional love of a mother.  This painting is my prayer that the hurts of childhood can be healed.  Maybe the painting supports you, as you grapple with justice, truth and walk humbly with your God.
