Via Crucis (way of the cross) – Bronwen Hunt
No other event and no other symbol encapsulate the intersection of justice, mercy and humility like that of the cross. Here is the goodness of God on display for all humanity. As a mortal, He has shown us what is good.
When we view injustice and suffering through the lens of the cross, we are sharing God’s perspective, which restores the image of God to all humanity.
The shape of the cross – imbedded in the door – invites us to join God as more than an observer. If we are to follow Jesus – the cross is the way.
The door itself is rather ordinary. A reminder that entry into a hurting world is often not through the spectacular but rather, a host of everyday opportunities before each of us.
