Between Heaven and Earth

Still, Moving image video – single channel mp4 / No. 1 in edition of 7, 1920 x 1080px

Artist Statement

During recent disasters my beloved rainforest home perched beside the steep cliffs of the Illawarra escarpment has become a refuge where I document the ethereal transformation of clouds, pondering nature, humanity and the spiritual.

Delicate, ever-changing clouds embrace a diaphanous figure interpreting Isaiah 43:19 in Auslan, a distinct visual sign language of the Australian Deaf community. The human body conveying the text in an accessible poetic dance, segueing into gestures of metamorphosis.”
