Artist Statement

To me, the essence of what is required of us is LOVE. The choice to give love, and the journey of growth from experiencing love, is the purpose and essence of what connects us. Love is also reflected to us in nature; when we give it love, it returns both sustenance and spiritual healing. This reflection of love through nature is what I explore in this artwork. Nine abstract representations of the landscape reflect on how different kinds of love each plays a part in our growth and healing: romantic love, friendship, love for a child, self-love, passionate love, family, mature love, love reborn and spiritual love. It also reflects number nine’s spiritual (and biblical) significance.
