Artist Statement

“Words have power. Their meaning and use crystallises perceptions, shaping beliefs and driving behaviour which ultimately creates our world. In this artwork, I chose the three words – Justice, Kindness and Humility – as words that have the ability ‘to help, to heal and make us humble.’ Their power arises from our emotional response when we read, hear, or speak them. Birds have a universal reference to peace, good luck and transcendence to a spiritual world. The reflecting nature of the crystals gravitates our attention to the message being conveyed.”
